The mini lift was the first technique used in the early 1900’s by pioneers like Eugène Höllander (1867-1932) ein 1902, C. Conrad Miller (1880-1950) in 1907 or Suzanne Noël (1878-1954) in 1912. This technique is still used extensively today, although it has been greatly improved over the years. I often perform it in combination with upper eyelid surgery.
Even a perfectly executed mini lift will give disappointing results to any patient with clear and visible signs of aging. The mini lift is ideal for early stages of sagging skin in the lower face area. The consultation is an important step to determine together whether this procedure is adapted for you, other techniques may be a better fit for your personal desires depending on your skin and face structure.
Par une ou deux petites incisions pratiquées dans les cheveux et dans les reliefs des oreilles si nécessaire je vais chercher le bord des tissus relâchés pour les fixer à leur emplacement naturel.
The operation lasts about an hour and a half, but it is highly recommended that you stay at the clinic or medical office for at least four hours. Local anesthesia is performed while you are lying down; I then start the procedure with some music playing or while talking to you. You can feel my touch, but not the pain. Each side of the face is done symmetrically. Once the procedure is over, you can usually feel the stitches without any pain.
A headband-shaped band-aid is placed around your head and over your ears, and, after having a cup of tea at the clinic, you can hide it with a hat or a scarf to go home.
You may experience slight discomfort for 6 to 10 days, during which you will have to limit your professional and social activity. You will also have to restrain from driving for two days and sleep on your back for a week. Swelling will be the most noticeable the day following the surgery, but it is generally mild and bearable. You may have bruises on the cheeks and the neck.
