Overview
Fortunately, clitoris reconstruction is an infrequent procedure in Switzerland, it is typically performed on women who have suffered from genital mutilation due to cultural norms. Most of them are women from African countries who have undergone this procedure either in their home country or in Switzerland and France, despite its illegality. FGM procedures vary in severity, from partial removal of the clitoris to infibulation. Is it for you?
Any person who has suffered from mutilation and trauma needs and deserves treatment. The patient’s respect for their culture is never questioned; this procedure is about restoring respect to the body.
Technique
The technique consists of regrouping the two branches of the clitoral tissue recessed in the labia and the pubic zone, and attaching them together to recreate the outer part of the clitoris.
Procedure
The operation is conducted under general anesthesia and lasts less than an hour. You can go home on the same day, but it is advised to stay at the clinic overnight for more comfort. You can resume walking on the same day and sexual relations after four weeks.
After the operation
The new clitoral glans is sensitive and has to be covered by a fatty dressing. Pains are mild and can be treated with painkillers. You will not need to wear a urinary catheter for more than twelve hours.
